Plots in NW AL were up and doing well. Army worms destroyed them in a couple of days this week. Plots were poisoned, burned and a good seed bed was prepared for the first planting. I cannot replant until November 1. Assuming we get some rain, will it be a waste of time and money to top dress with wheat and oats and drag or disc? About 10 acres.

Should be fine but I'd go with wheat & cereal rye right in front of rain.
Just got home from WY late last night & looking out the windows this morning it looks like I have them in my yard in Killen. Hope they don't make it to our place in Lutts ...

I have seen good growth from cereal grains and annual cool-season clovers broadcast the first week of November.
