Any ideas,I can use a pistol caliber rifle in Indiana now...357 or bigger...any ideas on one that would be a good choice?Good ballistics, shoots fairly flat etc.
Puma makes some lever guns in .454 Casull. That ought to do the trick.
I have a Marlin in .357 and it's a whole different round out of an 18" rifle barrel. With good handloads or Buffalo Bore ammo, it pretty close to .30-30 specs.
I have a Marlin 1894 in 44 mag and man I love that gun.I droped a 4 pt with it at 60 yds with it.Never knew what hit him. It's a tack driver with 240 grain winchester JHP!
I would love to have a 460 S&W Magnum with a 20" barrel for an Encore. That would be the mother of all pistol cartridges in a rifle. It can shoot a 300 grain bullet 2060 fps out of an 8" barrel. I can't imagine what it would be out of a 20" tube, maybe some where around 2200 to 2300 fps. Also this round shoots extremely flat compared to others pistol rounds.
