bowriter,
You are hilarious.
And the golden arches comment made earlier is also hysterical, I spewed my water on that one.
I dunno, maybe we aren't seeing enough deer in our group. Last season, my son and I only arrowed 17 deer, including a few really mature public land bucks. His biggest.
Our group had a P/Y in Illinois, and several mature does and bucks. I am not sure of the exact total we arrowed, but I am sure that between the 5 I speak with most frequently, and including my son and I for a total of 7 hunters, all peeing in a bottle, we managed to kill 40 deer (just off the top of my head). I would be afraid to say how many we saw. But in two days, ONE of my buddies and I saw a total of AT LEAST EIGHTY deer on two sits each in two different locations.
Maybe this season we SHOULD "let 'er fly". But then, we have ALL already done our own independent three year study with NEGATIVE results.
On a similar note, I have also watched deer show VERY negative reactions to coyote AND bobcat pee. Right after I watched a coyote void and on another hunt, a bobcat.
Come to think of it, these deer were probably smelling where the cat, or yote, walked. Similarly, it may be that deer are also walking up, and smelling the pee below our stand, and getting a whiff of sweat or shoes in the vicinity of the pee at the base of my tree. HMMMMM?
Side-note...I once pissed off the stand on a VERY cold, windy evening. Somehow, it hit my bow rope on the way down.
It took forever to lower my bow because I had to break the icy rope before I could attach the rope.
