I inherited a Remington Peerless - the firing pin had gotten dirty and gummed so I had it cleaned. Thing was we shot it down in 'bama with trap loads and no problem had it send up to CT and thats when issues started - could be climate I dunno but it worked after they got it cleaned. Nice gun. Most likely thats the problem here. A good gun smith will have it cranking in no time.
