out of state question

Couple of friends and myself are lookin to line up a trip for the next couple years. Im looking to hear from a few of you guys who travel west of the mississippi on some of your experiences.

We are lookin for a do it yourself trip with elk getting the priority. Possibly looking at going over the counter in colorado this coming year while acquiring a preference point to get drawn for a better area the next year. We took a deer trip to wyoming for muleys and whitetails last year, but still open to taking a deer trip this next year while our points build for elk.

Really just brainstorming right now trying to find out what sounds the most appealing. Bow hunt only!

Where did you hunt in Wyoming last year? The Bow Elk hunt sounds like fun.

Northeast corner. Just across the line from belle fourche s.d. It was a private ranch and we paid a trespass. Had lots of fun and my best evening on stand had 29 deer within bow range. As far as whitetails go i couldve have killed any of the deer i seen in tennessee, but they also had some beefcake muleys runnin around. Deer numbers were incredible.
