ole fashioned red eye gravy

any one have recipe for ole fashioned red eye gravy i can make gravy just never made red eye gravy my dad made it when i was a kid but passed befor i started cooking so i have no clue

best i can remember is they make it with coffee after frying country ham,no thicking,add the coffee simmer,i dont think i liked it too much,mike243

You can make it from sausage, or ham. I make it with deer sausage also.

Fry your ham, remove to a another container, along with the oil from the pan. Put frying pan back on burner and sprinkle sugar
in it and brown the sugar.

When sugar is brown, pour in black coffee and bring everything
to a boil. You can put the meat back in for a short time or
just pour over the meat.
