Bought my first fishing boat in november and just got it up to speed this week. I'm going to be putting in at shutes branch on OHL this weekend in search of crappie.

Can someone shed some light on catching crappie right now? Specifically what depth to fish, lures or live minnows etc. I am new at crappie fishing and novice at fishing. Just trying to get some help.

Also, if any old hickory crappie guys want to fish, I'll provide a nice 17ft bass tracker, fuel, and some decent company for some guidance and crappie fishing tips.

Thanks,
Wes

Been catching em good in 20-25 ft of water on jigs. Best crappie fishing on O H in 5 or 6 yrs

Going to a crappie class this weekend. I'm in the same boat as you. (Ha see what i did there?)

Ill share what I learn with ya when I get back and maybe we can go find some.

Man I'm kicking myself for not going to that class. I think i'm going to head to priest sunday, I'll scope out some spots and when you return with your new crappie wisdom, maybe we can get together and catch some slabs.

Last couple weeks, when the wind cooperates, we have been catching them from 15-3 feet around brush. Been using a pink, 1/12 ounce jig and some minnows.
