Went yesterday to work in the fields in west tn.
The fields were too wet to disc from the rain thursday.
So..just hooked up the bush hog and started cutting roadways and paths.

Boy,I to wish it would rain here.

I dont worry about it until the first of sept, if we planted in august the weeds just have tooooooooo much warm weather time to re-grow and take over. We do better to wait and get the planting over with within the first 3 weeks of sept. Except for the year of katrina where we never got the first drop of rain in the entire month of oct and the first two weeks of nov we have not had a real problem. It is interesting to see this cool weather coming in and staying for days on end in august but man i am sure enjoying it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ditto all that

I wish I knew when it was going to rain too! This past weekend we disked and sprayed all of our plots. Probably here in about 2 weeks, we're gonna spread fertilizer and hope for some rain to get it down in the soil. Then depending on the rain, we will probably plant either the first or second week in September. Love watchin them things grow!
