MOST deer breed near a very specific date to produce prey saturation (so many fawns on the ground at the same time that predators can only get a small percentage of them before fawns are old enough to run away). However, Nature gets around to trying everything. In the Southeast, fawns have been documented being born during every month of the year. That's how Natural Selection works - by playing off the variations in Nature to pick which timing produces the highest survival rate.

Maybe just me and this little phone screen, but i don't think that's a fresh newborn(this year's) fawn.

Maybe a late born from last fall that's hung on to it's spots.
