Who went on the scouting day yesterday? What did you think? Found a ton of fresh rubs in the area that I hunt...talked to a Twra officer and he told me that they expect some big boys to hit the ground next weekend. I hope so!!

I hear ya. The officer said that they haven't seen too much rutting activity and he expects this week for them to really get started. Weekend forecast looks pretty good also.

My dad worked the y12 scout yesterday and said the big boys are just starting to move.

I didn't see any sign really. I didn't see many people scouting either. I'm not confident in any area that I scouted and I'm not going back to hunt. This makes 2 down years in a row for me. Ever since they dropped the buck restriction the area seems to have went way downhill. Time to start putting in for a new WMA.

I was disappointed as well. You would think with 2 hunts canceled the last 2 years the deer numbers would be up. But they continue to decline. I think EHD has taken a toll on the herd. Lack of acorns doesn't help.

I work here at Oak Ridge, and I gotta say some of the biggest bucks in the state both numbers and racks live on this WMA! I havent seen alot of rutting activity this year, but have seen some real studs. They dont get big by being stupid! Put some time in, learn the areas you can hunt and i guarentee youll see some big bucks.
