Not much growth in a year.

I knew this deer made it through season and been waiting for him to show up. Seen him last night for the first time this year. Was expecting more growth to him but doesn't look like he's grown much, if any from last year.

Either way I think he's 4.5+ and might be tempting to shoot if I see him.

In my limited experience it's uncommon to see dramatic jumps after 3.5yrs. He doesn't look any older in second pic so he was probably already plenty mature in first pic. Unless I was just laser focused on chasing another buck, I'd shoot that one without hesitation if the opportunity presented itself.
That's why the average gross score of 4 1/2 year-olds in the hardwoods of TN is around 120, but the average score of bucks 5 1/2+ is only 125. On average, they don't add that much deeper into maturity.
