not a good morning

Got up this morning got in the woods and just settled into my stand and had a deer start blowing at me....well it finally got daylight and around 830 had another deer blow and it was a big doe about 60 yards well she stopped and fed away from me.....around 920 heard some leaves crunching behind me and i thought it was a doe the deer came up 15 yards from me and standing broadside i drew back and then saw it was a spike i decided to shoot anyway well i did it all wrong i rushed the shot and didnt settle my pin and hit the deer in the high soulder i found blood and gave the deer around 30-45 minutes before trackn it.....found decent blood and had air bubbles in blood and looked for 3 hours and lost blood never found my arrow or deer have yall had anything like this happen to y'all this is the 2nd deer i have lost since i been hunting which has been 12 years sorry for the long post

Keep looking, bet he is laid down behind a log or near some water. I had the same thing happen last year. Found him belly down behind an old fell tree, almost tripped over him

My bad day was Saturday ! Thought I had missed, got down found my blood covered arrow. The deer just strolled off like nothing happened. Never found any blood except where it was standing when I shot him. Looked for 4 hours, no blood and no deer. Been bummed out the last couple of days

Had it happen last night, found major blood leaving the food plot. Clumps with air bubbles at the edge of the woods bumped him 80 yards in the woods the nothing. After the numb I left for 2 hours came back with my brothers funaly find a very small spec about 20 yards from the last drop and kept following the trail to a field where I found him by climbing a tree and shining a spotlight... Don't give up move slow look everywhere.

Yes there is a pocket just behind the top of the shoulder that will fill with blood every time the shoulder moves and will fralth the blood to make it look like a good hit...something happen to me several seasons ago.

yeah it does suck, I thought i made a good shot on a doe I even called my dad and told him i had one down cause i didnt think it would make it far, well i was wrong found good blood were the deer was standing when hit, but never found arrow or the deer, makes me sick nothing worse then losing a deer.
