Hearing rumblings that he threatened to hold out prior to Playoff. Interesting.
Now the agent is getting blamed. We may never know but if Nico didn't know he'd have been at practice Friday.

Reading some stories that are just coming to light this has been a ongoing situation. Not just something that came to light just Friday.
Nico's camp had been in negotiations with the vol camp since fall about recruiting a better online for better protection for him. Nico's camp were not satisfied with what the vols have come up with to date and money was not all there was to it. I honestly think he looked to his right, looked to his left and saw that this season ( which will probably be his last before declaring for the draft) was going to be a SS and wanted no part of being a vol and used the contract negotiation and leaving like he did as a out.

There are influencers on Instagram making more. This marketing economy we have is ludacris. Advertising seems to be our dominant industry.

Ive heard some pretty convincing arguments that maybe his best chance of getting the money he wants. Bill B might be looking to make a splash his first year out. And I would imagine NC is going to let him have what he wants with the check book within reason.
Seems like most people are pointing to USC since he originates from Downey California which is about 45 Min away apparently. But then again Ive heard and read where USC seems happy with their current QB room and did not dive into the QB portal back in the fall. So there is that angle to be looking for.

Nico is a grow arse adult and controls his own future. He had a guarantee of what 2.5 million to play what? One more season? And then by what most experts are saying he was going to declare for the draft after this season???
I mean I get it. The boy looked around and saw that the landscape had changed since he negotiated that contract. He saw QB like Carson Beck making 4 million dollars and getting a Lamborghini and thinks to himself that he should be getting that sorta deal. The problem??? A. He is not Carson Beck , B. He is not the caliber of QB Carson Beck is. C. He's not producing results like Carson Beck D. He's not playing at Georgia.
I bet NC would give him a decent pay day but I would be shocked if anybody gives him 4 million, he's just not worth it plus all the family baggage. Heupel missed on this guy no doubt, he's just not as good as most hoped he would be. I don't think the other two qbs on the roster are better either. The Brandon kid looks imo to be the man but who knows if he ever appears on campus with the way things are now.
I heard that to and they have money but I wish those yahoos would head back to Californication and stay there. Vols should stay away from that whole state .

Belicheck has something to prove. He might go out on a limb. My guess is Nico is damaged goods and comes with baggage. I would pass on him. He would make a good back up QB somewhere.
Ive never seen a vol player leave the program and be successful anywhere else in college ball. They leave and are just behind the learning curve by 1,2 or three years and can never catch up. vol qb in the NFL with the exception of Peyton Manning have been just horrible. Josh Dobbs just got kicked from SF 49s. I think this is his 11th NFL franchise ???? Now with the Patriots. Lets see how long that last? Hendon Hooker looks destine to follow in footsteps. Joe Milton is on a dead cat bounce and at Dallas Cowboys. You can see where that is going?????. NO WHERE.
His agent was a family friend Cordell Landers and Big Nic. They are the only ones that have been handling Nico's affairs. I said back in December that Big Nic was a pain to deal with. Sometimes asking for a many as 70 game passes for family and friends. The house they had on Washington Pike had 15+ tenants.
I left out the part that all those guests they would have for football games, needed full concierge services. Pickup at airport, meals before game, food and beverages during games. A nightmare.

I may be mistaken but I think I remember a certain Tennessee linebacker that transferred to bama just a few SHORT years ago and started that very season then went to the NFL. O by the way, Tennessee waxed that tail for them before he left

You are correct. Also, Hurts was kicked to the curb by the democrat nick saban but his career has flourished since getting great QB coaching from Lincoln Riley. Boomer Sooners waxed that gump tail to.

Besides NIL, it's the playoff too that is ruining college football. Why? Because in the past you could have co- champions, you had great interest in winning your conference championship, you had great interest in bowl games and what bowl your team would go to. You has set bowls per conference, Sugar for the SEC , Rose for the Pac 10, Cotton for the Southwest etc. You had meaningful rivalries between teams, conferences and regions of the country. And most of all you had a system of crowning a champion that caused controversy, and that kept the fan bases talking all year, it kept college football on everybody's radar cause if you didn't win and somebody else did there was disagreement and that kept it front and center. It also put huge chips on the shoulders of players, coaches, teams, schools, conferences, and regions cause they thought they got dissed.
Now, as it's said, it's decided on the field, it's the only thing to play for. And as the teams drop away from contention the interest drops too.
I'm a UT fan( although not like I once was) and after they got put out of the playoff I quit watching, I can't say who was the champion was last year, in the past that would never be the case cause on January 1 by 10 pm everybody knew who it was and the 9 months of arguing could begin.
