Did Louisiana pass the law where athletes don't have to pay taxes on nil?

I was on the road all day yesterday so I just got caught up (or at least as caught up as possible, still lots of unknowns) on all this last night.
Initially I was very pissed. The more I read and tried to put what few pieces are out there together, the better I felt about it.
2 things can be true: Nico didn't live up to expectations in his first year as starter (2nd in program) but I was still excited & optimistic about his potential.
Apparently this was an issue last winter also which we heard some rumblings about. All that's gone down since season ended & especially this week there is no way he can come back, and I am ok with that. There were a lot of issues last year on offense but one thing that's not arguable is he did not often enough elevate the play of guys around him.
Timing is super $hitty. Hopefully Merklinger has impressed as much as we've heard about in spring. Doubt we get many quality qbs in the spring portal so I am content to ride with Merk & hope G Mac & Faizon Brandon live up to their potential better than Nico.

College football as most of us knew it is dead, never to return. Playing for the team you grew up loving and having loyalty to said team is over. It's nothing now but a house full of athletic who-urs going to the highest bidder switching again the next year to whoever will pay them more. Vols should quit recruiting California and definitely stay away from Polynesians. Toto , Lama lover =

I've been saying for a couple of years that I feel less excited about college football, and less tied to my favorite team. This is just another example of why, even if it is not my favorite team
They are allowed NIL deals also but not sure how that's going. Prob pretty hard to get money in high school except the very large schools with tons of exposure

Nico sure has not lived up to the expectations of Volunteer fans.In my opinion he sure is no Hendon Hooker.Hooker was a team player and loved by all the fans and teammates!!Hendon Hooker was the frontrunner for the Heisman Trophy but got injured against South Carolina!
They are allowed NIL Deals but are not allowed to represent their team. For example, if they do a commercial they must wear a generic jersey without a team name or emblem. It's all a trickle down effect and getting worse.

Yep. Pro pay, with a 1/3 of the skill of an nfl player. Makes no sense to me.
Look at bryce young. He took a paycut to go to the nfl and ne undersized and underskilled. He is about the 25th best in the league (and thats being generous)
The reward for college athletes, is a free education while being regarded as heroes. Now they are below average pro players playing other below average pro players

Seen today that Tennessee is moving on from Nico . He really didn't impress me that much anyways .
Not a TN fan at all but big props to Heupel and whoever else made the decision to make the decision for him to not come back. There's no loyalty to a program anymore. Don't want to compete for playing time. Transfer. Want more money. Transfer. Don't get your way. Transfer. The mindset of these players/kids will not work out well in the "real world" when sports are over with for them.
I'd take a drunk Sam Leavitt over lama lover any day of the week and twice on Tuesday. He would be a huge upgrade without the drama and quarr pajamas.
