Newby running trail cam here...

Okay guy, I'm just not having luck seeing mature (or older than 2.5 for that matter) on my trail cameras. I put them over trophy rocks & they get worn out. I've been getting plenty of young bucks and does. Just no mature deer..

Maybe my area just doesn't have swaybacks?? Or is there an art to putting cameras out?

Nope no art to it. I had several mature bucks on camera thru 1st week of august but haven't had a picture since, just does and a few small bucks for the last month.

Like IPO said, just be patient. Sometimes I will go 3-4weeks with no mature bucks...then BAM! I will have several.

Yup,I'm just now starting to get some good ones...be patient.

I'll just be more patient. They have to be here somewhere. Ain't been many killed down there.. No 2.5+ in the last 4 years that I know of, so they have to be there.

I've put the last camera on a wore down trail on a ridge side , so maybe that's a good spot.
