Doesn't matter where it came from. Just glad to hear that the other record, which has enough controversy surrounding it, may finally be broken. I did hear that in order for it to be broken that it has to be 2 oz more. Apparently this fish was just one ounce larger - making it an official tie.

what controversy?

that fish don't weigh no 22 lbs. it's only 7-1/2 inches long!

OK, let's talk irony.
We have Asian carp in the U.S.
And they are catching world record Florida strain bass in Japan.
Crazy world we live in.
Only justice would be if the fella that caught it was named Bubba Hiroshima.
Did think it was strange that none of the photos I have seen showed the angler's face...?

i don't think that this is real, they said it was twenty two pounds five ounces, and in the first pic the guys lipping it in the air like its a three pounder, and from the looks of the guys arm, he doesn't look like he's that strong, thats like taking a ten gallon aquirium filled with water and holding it above your head with one hand, i think its a hoax

Big fish no matter what he is....I think I hate to catch the world record just having to hear all the crap that would come with it!
