I've got a propane fueled cabinet style smoker with firebox and water pan. I've been real happy with it, but it's not built very well. Basically Chinese disposable crap Iike a lot of other stuff, but it cooked really good in its day.

I use it a lot though, so I thought I'd start the search for a new, more better replacement.

Nothing is off the table, except I really like the cabinet style, and I probably want to stick with propane or electric for practicality. I can easily cook 2 or 3 shoulders and a couple Bridget's on mine with room left for some chicken or ribs.

Any suggestions for a quality smoker?

I bought a traeger Texas grill it is a pellet fire my buddy has one and I really liked it I called and dealt with them on the phone and they cut me a heck of a deal compared to online

For a cabinet style smoker the Backwoods are awful nice.
My neighbor has a room full of trophies he has won with his.
They are charcoal though but they cook really well.

I have been researching smokers for weeks now. This is the one I just ordered. Every review was top notch for build and function. Was more than I wanted to spend but, I'd rather not throw good money after bad.

I bought the same smoker about a year ago and love it. 6 ounces of wood chips will smoke for 4-5 hours. Temperature is very easy to control as well. Customer service is fantastic. One of the racks was a really tight squeeze to slide in so I tried making it smaller by tapping it with a hammer but tried to hard and the welds broke. Emailed the owner and told him what I did and he sent me a replacement rack immediately.
My old smoker was propane fired and it was a chore to keep the temperature consistent. Electricity is the way to go.
