Nothing new in Camden Bottoms. First two days on our draw, we never fired a shot, Killed 3 on Wed, missed the two pair we shot at today.
I don't duck hunt. I do live fairly close to Ky Lake. I've been seeing more flying over the house this week than all winter.Anybody seeing any increase in numbers with this latest blast of cold air ?

Our hunt at Johnsons bottom is tomorrow through Sunday. Hope we get to get some shots off.Not that it's what you're looking for but here in the East the big duck action was subdued—really thought we'd see a good reverse migration after yesterday's strong south wind and warm rain. Had seen decent reports from NE TN from the past 2 days, even. Getting the impression birds around here show up in advance of a front, not with it. Today during the wee, overcast hours is when the wind changed to a strong, cold north wind.
Woodies and geese, on the other hand…suckers were all over the place. Even some specks! Of course the sandhills were busy too. Funny watching them all struggle against the headwinds.
Dang that's rough brother. How'd your boy like it besides the no duck thing.Went this morning. Didn't see a single duck. Saw 6 geese
Oh lol I should've known that since my wife is a school teacher. Well let's hope with more people out hunting and MAYBE fishing that it'll get some birds up for y'all. I say the first 15-30 minutes of daylight will be the "big push".He had school today. Going in the morning. Ha I'll let u know
I have never seen wood ducks leave the area we hunt. If everything is frozen solid the wood ducks just move to the Rivers. They are the only ducks we see some days when everything is frozen up.Busted ice and saw three wood ducks. Never seen them this late except on a week's worth of south winds.
Had some buddies on Camden this past week and they said the same, no birds. I think they only killed 7 or 8 all week! TerribleNothing new in Camden Bottoms. First two days on our draw, we never fired a shot, Killed 3 on Wed, missed the two pair we shot at today.
Dang that's brutal for sure. Two days in a row and have not seen a single duck.
The group that hunted yesterday didn't come back this morning but a new group came and was gone by 930.Dang that's brutal for sure.
Man I hate that for y'all but welcome to East Tennessee duck hunting. I'd be looking for a wood duck hole somewhere close by so y'all could walk into and at least get some action early in the mornings. The group that hunted yesterday didn't come back this morning but a new group came and was gone by 930.
