Not that it's what you're looking for but here in the East the big duck action was subdued—really thought we'd see a good reverse migration after yesterday's strong south wind and warm rain. Had seen decent reports from NE TN from the past 2 days, even. Getting the impression birds around here show up in advance of a front, not with it. Today during the wee, overcast hours is when the wind changed to a strong, cold north wind.

Woodies and geese, on the other hand…suckers were all over the place. Even some specks! Of course the sandhills were busy too. Funny watching them all struggle against the headwinds.

Our hunt at Johnsons bottom is tomorrow through Sunday. Hope we get to get some shots off.

Haven't seen anything new at the house this week, but haven't been able to look real hard yet either.
We always have our group's final hurrah the last weekend of the season in WKY. In "normal" years I look for a good warm up and south wind. I suppose that's what I'll want this time too… we'll see. Arkansas's last report showed they picked up a lot of birds. But then the Cohen lab in west TN told everybody on FB that everybody is short stopping and them ducks don't like crossing the river anyway. So who the hell knows.
Little over a week left, go when you can, hope for the best and just enjoy getting out.

He had school today. Going in the morning. Ha I'll let u know
Oh lol I should've known that since my wife is a school teacher. Well let's hope with more people out hunting and MAYBE fishing that it'll get some birds up for y'all. I say the first 15-30 minutes of daylight will be the "big push".
