I found this rock in Middle TN this past weekend and am not really sure what exactly it is. Some sort of club or ax perhaps?? If anyone knows, please enlighten me. I have found tons of stuff over the years but never one of "these". The hersheys kiss didn't last 1 minute past the last picture.

Really old indian biscut. It's so old you just thought it was a rock. It probably didn't taste good so they just threw it away.

I Have found mine walking the creeks and river banks. Was this close to water? You can still find piles of rock and stone that the indians used as fish traps in stewarts creek near smyrna. These were used. I think, in a type of cast net. They caught some in woven stick baskets in the fish traps. They would also use the cast nets in the deeper pools. They also used gill nets when creeks emptied in to rivers. ( I am no expert but have read quite a lot about indian fishing in eastern U.S. )

That is a fishing net weight made from river rock..I have sat and watched my great grand father make many of those as well as other tools..

Yes, it was found near the Elk River near Lynchburg. I have found other artifacts (points, scrapers, etc. in this area before)
