Going to spend more time bowhunting this season. Hadn't got to do that in a while. It's 5 hours to LBL and it's 6 hours to where I can hunt public land in Ohio. What do you think?

Tom

Most I drive to bow hunt is an hour, but closest is 5 minutes.... I would not drive 5 hrs unless its a very special spot or the deer are ridiculously big and plentiful.

What is some good public land close to Knoxville?

Tom

Catoosa bow is open hunt, oak ridge if you draw it, north Cumberland if you put in the leg work. A lot of TVA land if you just want some meat for the freezer. There are deer to be had, and some good ones too on public land close to knoxville. I have killed deer on about every public parcel within an hour of knoxville.

I drive 4.5 hrs to hunt Ohio 4-5 times a yr. Depends on what quality off deer you are wanting to hunt.If you are just wanting to do some bow hunting the knoxville area will work just fine for ya,but there is no comparing Ohio to Tenn. when it comes to trophy hunting big bucks. The proof is on the wall !!!!

I would find some were to hunt close to home for early season, and save the trips to ohio for prime time(mid October - thanksgiving.)but if I was trying to decide between lbl and ohio I would be in ohio hands down.
