Alex Palo from Spain won the Indianapolis 500. I wish it had been an American, but real race cars don't have fenders.

😂 I just noticed this, but NASCAR ratings are in the toilet already, and now they're making the coca cola 600 only available on Amazon Prime? Way to help build your base back up guys, by making it harder on the little man to see a race. 😂🙄
Hard to believe how far NASCAR has fallen. People who weren't around to witness it don't realize how huge it was in the 1990s. It was a truly great sport back then.

It was HUGE in the 90s! I guess it just ran its course. They started tweaking the rules for a reason. I guess they saw trends in attendance and viewership that the average person was not privy to.

So that's why I couldn't find it. It's usually a good one to watch. Used to watch it quite a bit and been to Talladega and Daytona but when they went to multi car teams it went to crap. There shouldn't be teammates in racing but every man for himself. Each owner should be able to only own 2 cars max and I'd vote for 1.

I haven't watched NASCAR since they went full woke 5-6 years ago.
Whether you liked him or not, NASCAR started dying at Daytona 2001. He was the last of the "old guard" that built the sport.

I'll be the odd ball here...I still watch it. Its definitely not the same as it used to be...not even close. Just like on this forum...I don't get into the politics of it...I just watch. Sure, I have my thoughts, opinions, etc...just choose to keep to myself.
As for NASCAR not being the same as it was 30 years ago... neither is deer hunting....or fishing. Are we all going to quit that as well?

They had a fan base and they've gotten WAY away from it, and it seems to be a failing business model. That's just how I see it. I like watching racing, but not when I can't bc of red tape BS and their channel shenanigans. Like I said earlier, at least THE FASTEST RACING ON EARTH, NHRA, is still available for most folks. 👍🏼

I grew up a Bill Elliott fan. When he retired I retired NASCAR. I honestly believe when that generation of drivers retired that was the downfall of NASCAR. Yes when Dale passed that had some effect.
Now you have pathetic stage racing, one lug nut wheels, all the cars are basically the same. Teams don't build the cars anymore.
I only watch it enough now to see how Chase Elliott & the wood brothers 21 is doing. I have met Bill & his family several times. Nice people.
As for Amazon Prime. To me it's same as pay per view. I already pay for Dish Network.

Watched on my laptop, but only because work has amazon prime because I don't at home. I watched in the garage, but also had the tv on watching other stuff. We'll see how it works out for them and hopefully amazon paid them a lot to do it?

and hopefully amazon paid them a lot to do it?

That's the only reason that the race was on Prime.

They were willing to pay more than the other networks for certain races.

Amazon is getting more into live sports, and they are willing to pay.

If Nascar was at its zenith, the major networks would've paid whatever was necessary.

I lost interest when they put restrictor plates on them. Sucked all the joy joy out of it. I did enjoy catching highlights of the First Oscar Mayer Wiener Race. That looked like fun. https://www.mlive.com/sports/2025/0...irst-wienermobile-race-on-indy-500-track.html

You have never heard so much whining and crying on Social Media the first week the NFL had Thursday night Football on Prime and people did not realize it was on Prime . They were like I am not paying $180 a year just to watch 12 games.
