my modified Rem 700 Safety

this is from my 1974 700,,you can see where I cut the part of the safety off that locked the bolt in the first pic,,you can see the color change behind it to tell how much I cut off,in the forward fire position

in the 2nd pic,in the safe position you can see the lever is not long enough to reach up in the bolt to lock it,,

on page 223 of my new Sinclair Cat. they have a whole kit from Rifle Basix for 34$ to change the bolt locking safetys from early Rem 700`s to look and work just as the one I made in the pic above for free.
