Check out the progress of another one of my plots. This one is long and narrow and the view is front one of the corners (probably 1.25 acres). Spread 1600# pellet lime then planted with wheat, oats, chicory, and ladino/imperial clover on 9/21. I haven't fertilized yet, planning to do so next weekend with triple 15 or wait til next spring after soil test. The spot close to the cam looks like it didn't take very well. For some reason it holds water. I will probably overseed the thin spots with imperial clover late winter or early spring.
My plot progress. I think I'm going to watch and wait before I mow. The wheat and oats have taken off. I'm still shopping for a 3pt sprayer so I can't apply clet til then. pH is 5.7 and 5.3 in these fields so I will probably throw some pellet lime soon. Will wait til early fall before I throw some 0-20-20. Any other suggestions or advice?
