Muzzleloader vs crossbow?

Ive been debating on getting one or the other. I use a 30-06 for now but would like to hunt more than just gun season, and am debating over getting a caplock muzzleloader or a crossbow. I know crossbow = more hunting season, but something about a muzzleloader just makes me think I should get one.

I kinda want an old fashioned cap lock. like with the wood stock and the pitiful iron sights ;-)but the $147 walmart special seems like it'll do just fine

I'd go with a crossbow. You would enjoy early season hunting and get many more days with it. Mz is only open 2 weeks. But it's all up to what you prefer.

Yep, an old fashioned caplock sounds just like what you need. I'd rather be Davy Crockett than William Tell.

Go with a upper end X bow, longer season. You can take a turkey during bow season as well. Good used ML are staring to show up at reasonable cost, wait a while. Besides you can work with the X in your yard.
