We shoot monthly 600 yd score matches at MSSA. It got named Possum holler when new match director took over, kind of as a joke. I used to set my watch by these matches and hardly ever would miss one. Well 2 years ago one of my closest shooting buddy's suddenly became I'll and lost his battle with a brain tumor. It took a toll on my participation. Harold was a dear friend. I got caught off gaurd with a call from a guy I had helped with a rebarrel on a 308. He had parts left at a smith who said it would be done in 2 weeks, and 3 months later I was told of this. I said if you bring me the stuff, I'll have you shooting this weekend, he did, and he was! He called me wanting to shoot the mssa match so I agreed to be there and show him the ropes. He wanted to bring his 308, but he told me he had a Savage target rifle chambered in 6BR. I convinced him that was he needed to bring. He won first place in factory class, with a very good score of 185, I shot in Lt class and took first place honors with a 188. I hope you guys had a chance to get out and enjoy the weekend!!
