Interesting....I presume MS hunters were lobbying to not have to wear orange up in a tree. That seems a little odd to me.

how many hunters have been shot out of the trees on accident(wearing orange or not)? I haven't seen many deer climb trees, so the most common cause of shooting accidents (mistaking another hunter for game) wouldn't arise while in a treestand.
To me, I think it allows the flexibility of the individual to have self-determination in a situation that probably doesn't make a hill of beans difference in safety. Many folks I hunt with already remove orange once settled in the trees (although I don't think it helps very much killing deer), so this change keeps hunters from getting a ticket from a law that provides no benefit to their own safety. Must just be a MS thing... I guess TN hunters like wearing orange while in the tree.

If I have to pay for your medical bills, you should have to wear a seat belt or a helmet, not smoke, not overeat. If you pay for your own bills, I could care less what you do.
PoserHunters in a stand elevated 12 feet or higher doesn't have to wear a safety orange vest anymore. But they must wear at least 500 square inches of unbroken orange while traveling to and from a stand said:I have no problem with this rule ON PRIVATE PROPERTY.
