Got a few new spots I am trying out, put up a few stands and thought I would see where they come thru and may have to adjust after that. Any of you try this method?

Moving a stand should run every deer in the area out but several times I've seen nice bucks killed the same or the following day after someone moved a stand in season.

During the rut the buck you see tomorrow may be miles away when you're moving the stand today.

I have moved them and hunted them the same morning with luck. I have got pretty good at it and can put up a ladder stand as quick and quietly as a climber

Best way is to do it during a down pour... Very little scent will be left at all, you don't get sweaty, etc. This may only be worth it if your after a real eye popper...

Had two friends that moved a stand at my request and killed a good buck that very evening and one just a tad bigger the next morning ! Need to keep my mouth shut but it's just the area I guess but I would not hesitate to move if I think I needed to .

I've had some of my best success hunting a stand the same day I move it.
Just try to keep your scent to a minimum.

If you've hunted a stand for a couple of days and are having no luck how can you do any worse by moving that stand? Deer shift locations for whatever reasons. The hunter that doesn't shift with them is not going to put much meat in the freezer.

Im constantly changing stand locations as the deer change throughout the season! I couldn't even imagine not having the option to change during season!

I can't stay in the stand more than 4 or 5 hours so I hunt from a comfortable and lightweight climber. I try to minimize the weight of other items I carry in and get within a couple hundred yards on a bicycle. So I tote in everything with me including the stand. I have learned to put it up in the dark with no noise. If I pick out a spot scouting, I will usually pick out a good tree to climb. I carry a small saw and work my way up the tree. Flexibility is the key for me. I try not to hunt a spot more than three times throughout the season. My own research has indicated that sightings drastically decrease after three times. I will leave it on the tree occasionally and cover it with a waterproof camo stand cover. This keeps the scent down somewhat and the cushions dry. Its hard to move a ladder stand or even a lock on this often without destroying the woods and fortunately in this part of the country, there is no end to good climbing trees.

^^^ this.

Had a stand out that I wasn't happy with debated up to last minute on moving it. Finley took a chance and moved it the afternoon before season. I had moved it not far from where it had been. The next morning I had a heard of does and a nice 6 point come in. They could smell where I had been and keep looking at the spot I had the moved the stand from one doe even got under me and never knew I was there. They keep looking at where the stand had been the whole time. I finally got the 8 point. I believe if I hadn't moved it would not have happen. But then it could be all dumb luck.

I have moved them and got right back up and killed deer. If deer are passing you at 50-yards, get down and move right then. You'll be surprised at little they get spooked.

I move my stand once the acorns are gone, and once more around mid December. I'm usually in my climber though and I bounce around all over the place in it. I just use my ladder if I'm running late or being lazy.

In the 11 years that I was in Chaney Hunt Club, I won the big buck award five times. A few more times I missed winning by just a few inches of antler. Up until the next to last year that I was in the club, I was moving stands most every year. It was what I did. I had lots of area to hunt and took advantage of that "feeling" that I seemed to get when I found a place I liked. Just like I would not sit under one tree all season to kill squirrels, I truly believe that sometimes it's time to move , even if it's just 100 yards or less. In thick woods, deer learn how to avoid you without leaving the area....if you move , you may just surprise one and all it takes is one hunt. I normally never let a place rest after I hung the stand. I'd rather hunt it the day I moved it so as to not let the deer come through and pick up my scent while I am not there to take the shot...Especially if it's hot out , you leave a lot of scent behind when you move a stand. being there when the deer comes through is much better than allowing the deer to maybe see the stand and smell you and avoid the location for some time after that. Many hunters have stands that they hunted year in and year out....They just liked the spot and that's understandable. But, to me, the work was what was rewarding.....That's a great stretch of Bottom down there, with plenty of opportunity to be a hunter, and I gratefully remember every sunrise and sunset.

I'd vote...MOVE whenever you lose confidence in where you are...and hunt it asap.!!

good luck!!
