Mossberg question

I bought a very lightly used Mossberg 500AG today from a guy over the internet. It's a 28 fixed choke barrel. What does the G stand for? I can't find a definite answer anywhere. I'm thinking this is probably a 80's model gun but it's in great shape. I figured for $150 I couldn't go wrong. Heck a single shot is that much now.

All I've found is that the G means "Gamester." That may help your search.
