eating breakfast and saw a yote cutting through the field. Ran for the rifle and got on the deck.
200+/- yds and loping across the pasture. I barked a couple times but he kept going.

Led him by about 3' and shot over his neck! DOH! Got so excited that I forgot I wasn't playing with the .22 and held high when I should have been dead center. :bash:

Anybody have a rule of thumb on how much to lead a yote on the run? He turned the afterburners on after the shot so no follow up.

Snared 2 yesterday ! :tu:
Average sized female and a big male. The female has started rubbing and has some thinner spots on her back, the male had good thick fur with only a small rub patch between his front shoulders. Dumped them both in the deep freeze until I get some time to skin and flesh them out.

Going to make a nice blanket!
