Has anyone tried one. I'm eyeballing a 4x16x44mm. The price scares me! It's right at 150 bucks...shipped! LOL But they honor their warranty (according to reviews).
While I am on this subject, what is the difference between a 150 dollar scope and, say, a 300 dollar scope. What components begin to suffer quality-wise as the price drops. Thanks.

Kevin, I have had that same scope on a 223. I liked it a lot. Tracked very well and held zero very well at all magnifications. I have just went through the scope research for my new Stevens 243 and I decided on the Leupold VXI. If you are thinking of spending $150 go ahead and spend $50 more and get either the Bushnell Elite 3200 or the Leupold VXI. In my opinion and tons of online research from users and warranty results, these two cannot be beat for the money.

Chuck Hawks has probably the best reviews on the net for firearms and optics you can find. He has a price range on scopes and what his research has shown. I would encourage you to go there and read his reviews.

Thanks Stateline, Chuck Hawk's (and Randy Wakeman's) reviews are what I was researching. But yes, I should consider forking over at least enuff to get a VX1 3x9. This is going on a Savage ML2 and I'm gonna be slinging 300 grain Hornady HP at 2300 plus feet per second. The recoil will be felt. Thanks for replying.

I have that same scope on the 7mm08 varmint rig I finished before deer season, all I've been able to do so far was sight it in but clicks were consant and it's clear as a bell but thats all I've got so far.
