I realize this is an exciting time to be in the woods and you never know what time that big buck will come cruising by your stand. My question is this..During the rut how much is the daytime activity for bucks reduced, given the type of weather we have forecasted for the next week or so? Highs in the 60s and lows in the 40s? I hunt East Tennessee and I plan to be out in the woods regardless of the temps but just curious on peoples thoughts on this. Thanks!

I don't know about the forecast but the warmer it is, the less daytime activity you see in terms of chasing. But keep in mind what is normal. 60 degrees is not hot to a TN buck. It is normal. It would be blinding hot to a Midwest buck.

Also remember, if you know of a proven waterhole, the rut is the time to hunt it midday. I know I like a drink of something cold when I get through chasing in hot weather. At least, I remember it that way.
