What's everyone running in their cameras and what do they cost?

I have been using Onn 32GB class 10 100mbs and Sandisk Imagemate Class 10 32GB cards 120mbs

Some of my cameras read one or the other or both. I can't find the Onn cards online anymore so I'm looking to add some more cards for back ups

This is exactly what I'm currently using in most my cams.
I only use the 128 GB for those utilizing video mode.
Some of my SanDisk64 are now rated 140m/s.

Note that many cams will not accept an sd card larger than 32gb capacity.
So in my Tactacams, they're getting 32s, as are some my older Moultries, Bushnells, etc.
Brownings are the only one I have they will take a 128GB or larger card.

Better check with the manufacturer. Every camera I have ever owned has had some quirks about which ones to use and not to use.

Amazon had 256g sandisk150mb/s cards on sale for 19.99...I picked up a couple for the new spec ops elite hp4s I bought

For my other cams, I use 32g SanDisk 100mb/s cards

Never use the micro SD cards... some cameras are finicky with them

AND, the transfer speed is not printed on the little micro card!
The newer ones are fast, the older ones are slow, but hard to tell which is which, after you discard the packaging.

I'm jealous of you guys with the Browning HP4s. That might just be my birthday present to myself (even though I've collected more cameras than I have time to run already!)

32gb will be enough most of the time,
unless your run video or use field-scan mode.

The biggest card I run is 16g. I've never yet filled one up. Those fancy Brownings with that resolution might just make me eat crow on that. We'll see. But for cheapo cams I'm not sure it would be reasonably possible to fill one up.

That said, I don't store pics/vids on cards. I clear them whenever I check cams, so it's always a fresh card going back in the cam.

Same here. I don't use video mode so I've never needed more.

Depends on how often you check them, as to how much card capacity makes sense.

When you run reliable trail cams with long battery life, it can make sense to go check them less often.
This is even more the case with cell cams.

I've filled a 32 GB card (on video) in two weeks. Vowed that wouldn't happen again, so I switched to 64 GB. Now, with 128 GB getting real cheap, why not?

You can also easily fill a 32gb card within a month via using field scan mode with still pics.

That's gotta be due to the ultra high resolution videos. I've got picture mode on cams running at mineral sites in summer and batteries die before a 16g card gets filled.

How quickly you fill a card also has much to do with your cam settings.

Many people are setting to only take "a" or "2" pics no more frequently than with 1 minute or 5 minute intervals between potential triggering events. Many of mine are snapping 3 to 7 pics per triggering event, with zero to 10 seconds between potential events.

In the old days of film cams, it was absolutely necessary to have longer time intervals between potential triggering events. With only 24 to 36 pics allowed to be taken before re-visiting the cam, the cam was often set to take "a" pic with at least an hour interval before it could trigger again.

No reason to miss that big buck trailing that doe triggering your cam now.

Correct. Each 10 second video is 50 MB in size. Increase the video length to 20 seconds and each clip is 100 MB. At 20 second clips, a 32 GB card holds 320 videos.

I posted this on another thread but hoping more people see it. On Amazon, Micro Center SD cards are very cheap. You get what you pay for. I tried them out. My results were that they are not durable. I got about 3 downloads and then several have crapped out and I am unable to get the pics from the cards. You may have diffeent results but I am going back to SanDisk and PNY.
