Had a great trip this week. Left Wednesday came back this morning. Went to a fellow Tndeer members farm in Morgan County. Despite all the reports of EHD we saw plenty of deer. Dad was using my uncles Hawken that was given to him when he passed away. Had 2 does run by me at full speed and were gone before I could even raise my gun. 10 seconds later Dad shot up on the ridge next to me. She was mid stride full speed and he took her down at 20 yards. She died immediately. I couldn't believe the shot he made.

Then Friday night I set up on a field corner with some fresh rubs. Had what I thought was a doe cut across the field right in front of me. Scoped in and saw a little antler. By then I was ready to shoot and had never taken a deer after a couple years of trying on this farm so I decided to go ahead and let it fly. When I shot he crashed by Dad and he heard him pile up about 50 yards from where he was sitting. Tagged out on bucks but the experience was well worth it even if it's only a 3 point. Couldn't have asked for a better time.

Forgot to mention, this was Dads first deer since around 1990. Took a big break until he started taking me hunting and never really got a shot at one until now. Really happy for him

Saweet!!
I sure wish me and Dad could still hunt together.
Cherish your time with him.... I know you do, but you'll know what I mean better one day.
I am jealous.
Congrats to you and your daddy B!

Congrats to you both. It is a special time to enjoy with your family like that. Dad and I both got one this weekend too.

Great story, great photos, wonderful father/son time. 8-)

Treasure every single moment with your dad.
My Dad and I had our last hunt a couple years before he passed away, this same week as a matter of fact, muzzleloader season.
Me and him both doubled on does, my baby brother got a nice 7 point.
That day is etched into my memory.
Priceless stuff right there.
