Can someone help me win this debate? A friend of mine uses a AR 15 platform in Arkansas. It is his understanding Tenn not only allows this firearm but also has no limit on number of rounds in magazine. This meaning a person can use a AR 15 with 30 rounds?

My answer is absolute NO. But, I cannot find anything in the TWRA rules/regulations that specifically states a hunter cannot?

Anyone familiar with this area?

As others have said, there is not a limit on rounds, but one must ask what would be the point in loading 30 rounds in a deer rifle

was this a law that ever got changed? because when i was like 12 years old, which was 16 years ago, hunting with an SKS i was always told 4 rounds is all that is aloud for a semi-automatic rifle. Which i'm agreeing with ya'll that there is no limit because i have heard that in years past.

If you were told that 12 years ago, you were told incorrectly. TN hasn't had a maximum rounds for anything except migratory birds since at least the 1970s.

I got a ar this year I started digging around and found there was no limit. For some odd reason unknown to me I thought there was a limit.

I just hope we don't ever need a law for it. Thankfully, I only heard one kid at LBL last weekend that clearly was shooting at deer with an AR.

how do you know it was a ar? do ar's make a distinctive sound? it could have been a rem. 7400 with extended magazine..

There will be a Rambo Marathon next Saturday on AMC. Watch Rambo, Rambo II and Rambo III in action, then decide if you really should ask this question. ;)

I have always thought it would be fun to kill then field dress a deer with a 30 rounder. Should work pretty good with correct marksmanship! :D
