I noticed something after only two weeks of muzzleloader hunting. I am exhausted from studying topo maps, google earth, caltopo, trimble outdoors and all the other online aids that I use to get a feel for the area that I am hunting. I got a late start on getting everything going this year and felt I needed to prepare by study, study, study. Well, I think it was a mistake. Now Im burnt out on guessing where deer will be.

Do you think we rely on technology too much these days?

I can agree with that. I just feel that I put too much time into the maps and computer and finally said the heck with it and hit the woods. Lot more relaxing anyway. I think there is a time and place for the maps but I would like to get back to hunting like my dad and granddad did. without the use of cell phone topos and stuff.
