I am going to buy me some luminocks, I already know the brand I am going to buy. I have never used them, and was just wondering which color shows up better, yellow, red, or the green. From watching them on video, the all seem good. I am leaning toward the red. What do you all think ! What color do you all prefer. Thanks...

Red is the hardest color for the human eye to detect. Bright green would be my choice.

X2! Green is what I use on my Nockturnals and they are extremely bright and can easily be seen during flight--even during mid-day.

I am not filming mine, just in low light conditions, when it is hard to see your arrow in flight, you can see the glow of the nock, and tell where you hit the animal, or if you missed ! That's why I am going to use them.

I bought one once and it had very irradic flight missed target last arrow it turned off when it hit the ground, or broke. Is this common or did I just have a bad experience the one and only time I shot them?

OK, I have a question about illuminated nocks. Why do you use them? Are you filming your hunts?

I use them primarily for low-light situations because it gives me a better idea of where my arrow hit and from that I can make a better decision on what to do after the shot.

Got my nocks in the mail yesterday, and the green ones I bought worked good. I got the carbon express brand. For the guys who said red was hard to see, and yellow to, well my buddy was shooting the red, and yellow, and we could see them as good as the green. In my opinion, or atleast in my eyes, any of them worked good.

I use them for a couple of reasons, I can see where my bolt hits in low light and so I can find the bolt after the shot. I have close to twenty dollars in one bolt and broadhead, it is not fun losing one.

I use tracer knocks. Just love how they turn on and off! But i use them to see where the arrow hits and goes! Its incredible, especially in low light conditions. Which is when i tend to shoot most of my deer!

I use them because the REAL HUNTERS on TV use them. :D :D

Seriously, I can see my arrow in flight so much better, easier to see where arrow hits at the moment of truth and last but not least, easy to find arrow after pass-thru.

Not to change the subject too much, but I've wanted to try some sort of luminated nock for a while. Which do you recommend and how much do they change the flight of the arrow? 2 weels till opening day and I may go get a few if its not too much change.

RedFred, I bought the carbon express brand. They are easy to turn off. Just pull them about 1/8 inch, it will click and turn off. They did not change the way my arrows flew, or the way my bow was sighted in at all.

I use the nockturnals because they are a linear switch, they are the lightest out there at 20 grains and they are inexpensive. Turn turn them off just takes a small point such as a field point tip, or broadhead tip to push the plunger back. Yes, they fly great and I have not noticed any measurable difference in the point of impact.

The Carbon Express Lazer Eye nocks just weigh 18.5 grains, and you only have to use your fingers to pull them to turn them off. That's only 8 grains heavier than the standard nock. I don't think any of them will change the flight of the arrows though.
