Had a doe walk out with 10 minutes left. Had her at about 175 based on where she came out at, felt like the shot was good and she ran off to the other edge of the field. Waited and climbed down put of the shoot house and as I was walking to where I saw her at I noticed a doe on the edge of the field looking at me. Saw her eyes in my head lamp. Too dark to take another shot but I saw her end up bounding off with a slightly odd gait. Knew that was the one I shot then. Walked the whole field for about 30 minutes before I found a little bit of blood about thigh high on me on some beans right where she had been standing on the edge looking at me.

Blood trail died just past the trees into another field that's behind a church. I'm assuming I hit her low since our new shoot houses are really tall and I didn't think to compensate for that. Given how she ran off y'all think she will be OK and possibly come back? I looked as long as I could but with so little blood and a green field at night it was impossible.

Unfortunately (or fortunately) the height of your deer houses at 175 yards is completely irrelevant.

This will only matter on close shots and for stands which are 20+ feet high, and even then only a few yards. Nothing that would ever come into play with a rifle.
x2 I only worry about elevation above ground when bow hunting.

Sorry you lost her.. I know the feeling

Yeah once I got home last night I started reading and realized that elevation wouldn't make a difference. Even though I felt good about it I must have pushed the rifle at the last second and dipped it or something. Sucks.
