How should I add lime to a perennial clover plot? My understanding is that you have to work it into the ground. I'd rather not disk it up to prevent destroying the existing clover. Right now I'm only able to spread pellet lime as I do not have access to a buggy to spread powder lime.

I used the fast acting lime by Pennington which I broadcasted with a handheld spreader. Worked well for me.

With perennials you have to either lime before planting or broadcast on top of the ground. If you do lime before planting and start with the proper pH then re-lime every 3rd year by broadcasting on top, you should have no problem. That's the way farmers do on permanent pastures everywhere.

Now would be fine assuming the ground isn't too soft from rain to the point that the lime truck will cut ruts in your field. The main point is that lime takes time to work, so the sooner you get it in the ground, the better.
