If your Savage is kicking the pee out of you, it's nobody's fault but your own. I don't understand why everybody complains about how bad their Savage kicks when they are the one choosing the load and the bullets. You can easily castrate your Savage and still have WAY better ballistics than somebody shooting Pyrodex or 777, etc. The load above, simply switching from the 300g to a 250g would recuce your recoil by about 34%, then you back that powder charge down just a bit, you could make that gun kick 1/2 of what it does now. I hear these same complaints from guys at work, I just don't understand it. I've got my 10 year old shooting 250 xtps and 37 grains of VV N110, this load is faster than a 3 pellet charge of Pyrodex, with almost no kick at all. You guys are punishing yourselves for no reason.
I'm not shooting crazy loads in my savage. Between rodeo and 4wheelers, my shoulder doesn't like much recoil these days. Surgery didn't help. Hope the limbsaver does a little. The savage I have is an older one before they put a good pad on like they use now.
Try Midway USA or your local sports shop. I put a Pre-Fit Packmayer Deceleator on mine, same one that fit the syn 110 will fit the ML..I don't know if the Limbsaver is different in how it fits but you might have to drill a hole in the pad to match the stock screws,to get it to fit right.
