My book lists lil'gun for 300 blk. I have a pound of lil'gun that I aquired but on the front it says "shotgun powder" Is this the same powder?

Yep, seems like Hodgdon designed it for the 410, I'm thinking the Judge, and there are some side benefits. Looks like it is a dual use powder. here is the advertising copy...

In addition, LIL'GUN has many magnum pistol applications and is superb in the 22 Hornet.

So if the manual has a load for the 300 BLK, start low and watch for pressure signs, same as any new powder.

Thanks Dave. I would be using this for subsonic loads so instead of pressure signs I will be listening for the sonic crack and paying close attention to the chrono. Any other tips for loading sub sonic? I shoot a 16" di ar and a 10" piston with an adjustable block. I have had good success with factory subsonic loads cycling with no problems. Hopefully I can dial my reloads in as well.

Yeah, Lil Gun is a shotgun powder in the same sense as H110 since they both are great for the 410 - which really isn't a shotgun but more a toy. :) Actually H110 was supposed to have been developed for the 30 Carbine but I've always thought of it in association with the magnum revolver cartridges.

I have a pound of Lil Gun that I bought for both the 22 Hornet and 218 Bee. It will give a significant increase in velocity over H110 for both those cartridges.

I've never tried subsonic loads in anything.
