I get so excited when I see deer like the one below. I'm 99% sure he's a yearling, which will put him in the top 5% for his age class on my properties. Can't help but think what he'll make in 2 more years!

No sense in worrying about the factors you can't control. Who knows, maybe some 10 yr old will shoot him as his first buck ever. As long as the hunter who takes him is thrilled with him, then I'm fine. I would hate to see him fall to someone as thier 3rd buck of the year, with the philosophy of 'you can't eat the horns', though.
