I am going to take my 9 year old on the juvenile hunt ,just wondering if anyone has been doing any bow hunting. Not wanting any spots just looking for general information. Many acorns this year , fields planted? We live 4 hours away so scouting is tough will just try places we have been in the past. Thanks!

Lots of acorns and most fields that were planted last year are planted this year. We are heading up there Tuesday morning for the youth hunt. Goodluck.

Thanks for the information! We will be in area 15, he is excited to say the least.

Hunted 2 mornings at LBL 3-4 weeks ago while camping with the family. Didn't see anything moving but it was still fairly warm of course and my spot was right on the back edge of a long field close to our camp. Heading back this coming weekend for an 8 night stay without the kids this time so I'll be able to push my location further into the bush. Last year it took me over an hour to get to my stand, had a decent 8 point come up the ridge about 60 yards behind my stand. Saw 3 doe the morning before.

Last fall I was in the timber 100% of the time. This year I'm torn between staying in the timber or splitting time between the timber and back end field edges coming off a ridge.

I've heard the backside of the Bison range (TN side) is a good area but I have yet to walk it. Hopefully I'll get to spend a day doing that this time around.
