Fri, July 8, 2016–Power is out across Land Between the Lakes due to strong storms.

All facilities are currently closed and programs cancelled.

Check the Alerts page for more information and updates.

Trees are down across roads and in campgrounds.
Heavy rains have damaged some back roads and caused flooding in many places.
ADDITIONAL severe weather, heavy rains, and more flooding are forecast for Friday evening thru Sunday.

Staff is assessing damage and will begin clean up operations as soon as possible.

All facilities are currently closed including:

•Administration offices
•Welcome Stations
•Nature Station
•Homeplace 1850s Farm
•Golden Pond Planetarium and Observatory
•Golden Pond Visitor Center
•Wranglers Campground
•Turkey Bay Off-Highway Vehicle Area
•Elk & Bison Prairie
•Cravens Bay Campground

Electricity has been restored to some areas.
Both the North & South Information facilities are not open, as are a few other areas, including Piney Campground.

Unfortunately, LBL has experienced widespread wind and water damage.

Some areas will take longer to fix like the Homeplace 1850s Farm where powerful floodwaters moved picnic tables and dumpsters half-mile down the creek.

Check the Alerts page for more information and updates.

As of this AM, much of LBL has received over 13 inches of rain since July 3rd.
More rain remains forecast for today, tomorrow and the coming week.
The risk of dangerous NEW flooding remains high.

That is crazy, but I believe it considering I have been watching the radar to the north of us with envy for the last week. I have some tomato and pepper plants in my back yard that have only got 1" rain over the last 6 weeks, not good with the stifling temps and humidity we have been getting.
