Late frost didnt hurt too much :)

If you have a lot of blooms the tree will get overloaded with fruit and you'll end up with a lot of broke limbs from the weight. If you don't hand thin or chemical thin, frost can thin for you.

Yes we did get frost but our trees are farther behind so we can get to lower critical temps usually. My apples were mostly in tight cluster when trees in DeKalb Co.( I work there) were mostly in first pink to full pink with a few varieties even in first bloom. I need to stop by that orchard on the Caney Fork and the orchard in Silver Point to see what kind of fruit set they have.

Interesting, my pear tree here in south Lawrence county are so heavy the limbs are almost breaking!!

I haven't had a chance to check trees in a lot of areas, but I've seen oaks in the Nashville area carrying a lot of acorns (mainly White Oaks and Sawtooth Oaks).

Anyone checked their red oak varieties yet?

The last storm we had a week or so back blew some limbs off of a couple of red oaks and whites. They were all loaded with small acorns. Barring anything unforseen we should have the best mast production in many, many years in my neck of the woods.
Last year and the year before hard mast was non existant here on my farm.
