Anyone observed the effects of a late freeze or early spring freeze on Dunstan Chestnut trees? We have a lot of trees that lost their leaves due to 27 degree temperature last week. The trees were putting on a lot of new growth very quickly before the freeze.
We hope they don't die.
As a side note, our popular, persimmon, pawpaw, fig, grape, muscadine lost their leaves as well. Our apple, pear, blueberry, and oak trees survived the short freeze with no visible effects on their leaves.
