Sallee-bo, it seems that many on this message board are like those on the archery message board, meaning that if your bow ain't shooting 330 FPS you ain't no body. I think the same message is sent by all these well meaning muzzleloading enthusiasts on this thread. If you ain't shootin nothing but the latest 209, BH, perfect projectile, brand new muzzleloader that will throw a bullet out to 200 hundred yards, then you aren't up to date. But, to answer your question, yes there are conversion kits for your rifle both on line and at Knight dealers. But, rather than spend $ and worry about whether your gun is good enough, I recommend that you clean that gun up, make sure the breech plug and nipple are in working order, shoot about 80 grains of granular Pyrodex, with a good bullet (most any bullet), and you will be in business. The MK85 with that combination is a great gun and will do the job. Everything else is just dressing.

I agree with everything he ⬆ said ! I have a Knight MK-85 as well. I was going to buy the conversion kit so i could try the BH209. It wasnt until i bought some BH209, that i learned you cannot use it with an open breech style MZ.
With that said, i still use the #11 percussion caps and pyrodex pellets, and nailed my target at 252 yrds the other day, using my Nikon BDC scope.
Knight is an awesome, quality rifle. Stick with what you have.

You can get them at most sporting goods stores for a few bucks cheaper than Knight last time I looked, changed mine out several years back, bought from goods store, around $50.00 bucks.

Those kits are available just like what was mentioned. The only real advantage to a 209 primer is the hotter ignition for the pellets. Not saying #11 won't. Nothing wrong with loose powder and #11s, killed many a deer with loose and #11 and wouldn't hesitate a second to hit the woods with one my sidelocks or the T/C thunderhawk from way back in the cabinet. If you keep the nipple in good shape and flash channel clear and dry it will work great
