the least amount is your calibur,50g for a 50 cal 45g for a 45,60g is a easy kicking & accurate load for most bullets,keep the range reasonable & it will kill them all day long

my boys started out with 75gr.

70 grains with 240-250 grain bullet

I killed one with 60 grains of pyrodex.

I would say 75 to 90 grains of powder would be a good fit for any kid. One that hasn't had much firearm experience I would lean towards 75 grains.
