Turkey hunting suspended in Kansas this season

The decision to suspend was reached by members of the Kansas Wildlife and Parks Commission after recommendations from staff over the course of four public meetings.

Do they still allow turkeys to be killed over bait there? I know they used to. What a stupid thing to allow for any game species, but especially one in sharp population decline.

I havent hunted KS in several years. The first couple years I hunted there killing a limit (2) could be done in just a few minutes. I hunted there long enough to see what was happening and quit. We all need to just QUIT hunting for a couple years and see what the population does. Im not saying quit buying a license, Im saying quit killing!

What a terrible thing to allow for any game species, but especially one that is seeing a rapid reduction in its population.
The least they can do is try to assist it.

I was talking to an outfitter there about a spring hunt, but I think that's out now, after reading this info.
Getting harder to find anywhere not affected.
