Juvi hunt question without hunter safety course

My nephew just turned and 11 and we haven't yet gotten him in to a hunter safety course for this year. My question is the following ..Is there a one time permit you can buy that gives a juvi a "one season hunting pass" without the hunters safety course? I thought that there was but wanted to confirm. Thanks for your help!

Yes, he can get the Apprentice License. It will exempt him from the Hunter Education requirements for one year from date of purchase. It requires that he is accompanied by an adult 21 or older who meets the HS requirements who can take immediate control of his hunting weapon.

The Apprentice License DOES NOT exempt the hunter from any other applicable licenses or permits.
